Joshua 14. Caleb, the other of the two spies who gave a good report in Numbers 14 when they spied out the land of Canaan (the other was Joshua), was 85 at this time and till very strong and fit. He asked to be given the hill country where the Anakim giants lived. So Joshua gave Hebron, where the Anakim lived, to Caleb. Caleb then drove out the Anakim. He offered his daughter to be the wife of anyone who could conquer another city of the Anakim, Kiriath-sepher, and Othniel did that. “A small group of survivors escaped to coastal Philistine cities like Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod. Many biblical scholars believe later giants mentioned in Scripture, such as Goliath of Gath, descended from these surviving Anakim.”

Joshua 15-18 describes the dividing of Canaan among the 12 tribes so you can skim through those chapters. The Levites received 48 cities scattered throughout the land but did not receive a land portion like the other tribes. Joseph’s two sons, Ephraim and Manassseh, got a land portion so that makes up the 12 land portions. Here is a map that shows the division of the land.
